Hayden Wilde is an Olympic silver and bronze medalist, Commonwealth silver medalist, 2023 super sprint world champion and 2022 Super League Triathlon series champion.
Already showcasing elite potential on the off-road triathlon scene as a teenager winning two XTERRA under-19 world titles and the U23 title at the ITU Cross Tri World Championships, Hayden moved into regular triathlon with a wildcard invitation to compete in the Super League Triathlon championship series in 2018-2019.
He then parlayed his success in SLT’s supersprint formats into breakout performances on the World Triathlon circuit. A third-place finish at the 2019 test event for the Tokyo Olympics sealed his selection for the Games. Despite lockdowns delaying the Olympics for a year, he still made good on his promise by clinching the bronze medal for New Zealand.
Never one to rest on his laurels, he followed that performance up with silver at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, and then two years later bettered his Olympic performance to win silver in Paris.
