Joe Skipper is a European long distance champion, ITU long distance world championship bronze medalist, multiple Ironman champion, and the second-fastest British male ironman of all time. When one speaks of British excellence in long-course triathlon, it’s Joe who has been one who held down the fort for the past decade. He was the first British male to go under 8 hours in an ironman, and also holds the British 12-hour time-trial record for cycling an incredible 325.55 miles.
In 2022 with only eight days’ notice, he took on the challenge of breaking the 7-hour mythical barrier over the full distance at the Pho3nix Sub7 Project, Powered by Zwift. He smashed it with a time of 6:47:36, cementing his place among the giants of the sport on the Bahrain Victorious 13 Team.
Joe won the amateur British middle distance championship and turned pro in 2011. He has progressed through the ranks with his strong blue-collar work ethic and willingness to make sacrifices to improve his craft.
