Bronze medal Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship

In his first year racing professionally Max Stapley announced himself on the global stage with two silvers on the World Triathlon circuit and a bronze at the Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain, earning a spot on the Bahrain Victorious 13 team.

Max enjoys being the life of the party, but behind this exterior is a determined competitor who fought hard to stay part of the sport. Formerly representing Australia, when passport woes beset him in 2022 he continued to compete under the World Triathlon flag until debuting in the Great Britain uniform in mid-2023. At WTCS Sunderland, he raced the penultimate leg for the GB mixed relay, keeping the team in medal contention to ultimately win silver.

For Max, limits are only what you set for yourself so always aim for higher. He takes that same approach to sport as he pushes for Olympic selection, as well as to academics where he holds a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics.
