Her Royal Highness Sheikha Sheema Bint Nasser Al Khalifa graced the inaugural Victorious Women’s Forum hosted by the Bahrain Victorious 13 team at The Gulf Spa today.

It was HRH’s first official appearance, ahead of competing at the IronKids race this afternoon.

The Victorious Women’s Forum is part of Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship race week. In view of the recent Bahraini Women’s Day, the event aimed to celebrate the continued advancement of women in sport.

Bahrain Victorious 13 athletes such as three-time Ironman 70.3 Bahrain champion Holly Lawrence, Olympic gold and silver medallist Georgia Taylor-Brown, and Olympic mixed relay bronze medallist Cassandre Beaugrand joined the forum to share their insights about women succeeding and helping make change in sport.

“It was amazing to see such a great turn out of women this morning, supporting each other across a diverse range of sport, business and community,” said Lawrence. “I’ve been coming to Bahrain for the past five years and this event was so empowering. I’ll be using it as added motivation tomorrow while I’m racing.”

With about 50 people attending the exclusive event under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa and supported by his brother HH Shaikh Khalid, it was a hugely successful function that underlined the Kingdom of Bahrain’s dedication to developing the sports community as a whole and growing women’s participation through the collaboration of the Supreme Council, the Supreme Council for Women, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
