Athletes from Bahrain Victorious 13 delivered outstanding performances last weekend, earning one bronze medal and two golds at the T100 Triathlon Dubai and the Laguna Phuket Triathlon.

Brownlee Battles to Bronze in Dubai
Alistair Brownlee secured a hard-fought third place in Dubai, marking his strongest race of a T100 World Tour-focused season. Emerging third after the two-kilometre swim, Brownlee delivered the fourth-fastest split on the 80-kilometre bike course. A slip on loose gravel during the 18-kilometre run could have derailed his effort, but he rallied to claim the final podium step. The result also secured him fifth place in the overall T100 World Tour standings.

“I needed some stars to align, and thankfully, they did today,” Brownlee reflected. “Physically, I’ve been fitter in other races this year, but I just turn up, roll the dice, and see what happens.”

Kat Matthews added to the team’s strong showing with a fifth-place finish, earning her fourth overall in the T100 World Tour. The result also propelled her to third in the Professional Triathletes Organisation World Rankings. Matthews now looks ahead to the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Taupo, New Zealand, next month.

Waugh and Wilde Break Records in Phuket
Meanwhile, at the Laguna Phuket Triathlon, Kate Waugh and Hayden Wilde dominated the field, each claiming gold and setting new course records.

Waugh defended her title with a commanding performance, recording the fastest run and second-best swim and bike splits to finish over four minutes ahead of her nearest competitor.

Wilde, competing in Phuket for the first time, delivered the fastest bike and run splits of the day to conquer the challenging 1.8-kilometre swim, 50-kilometre technical bike course, and steamy 12-kilometre run.

Next Stop: Bahrain
The Bahrain Victorious 13 team now turns its attention to the upcoming Ironman 70.3 Bahrain Middle East Championship, taking place in less than two weeks. Vincent Luis, Henri Schoeman, and Max Neumann will compete in the men’s race, while Georgia Taylor-Brown is set to make her middle-distance debut in the women’s race.
