Parker won a double header, topping the Mooloolaba Triathlon sprint distance on the Gold Coast on Saturday then flying 1,200 kilometers back to her hometown of Newcastle to win the Oceania Triathlon Para Championships the following day.

The Australian paratriathlete was in fine form finishing the first race in 1:23:29. The travel to her second race did nothing to dull her speed as she won in front of a supportive home crowd in 1:10:38, 14 minutes ahead of her competitor. After claiming the top spot at the Devonport Oceania Cup in Tasmania two weeks ago, Parker has come off the blocks red-hot.

Across the seas in France, Luis opened his season with the Europe Triathlon Cup Lievin. The unique event last held in 2019 at the Arena Stade Couvert de Liévin has a completely indoor format: swim in a 25-metre pool in the middle of a 200-meter athletics track where the athletes would bike and run.

Luis showed his mastery of strategy and pacing over multiple supersprint distances (150-meter swim, three-kilometer bike, one-kilometer run). After placing second in his qualifying heat, he backed off with a fourth place in his semifinal before unleashing to win the final in a sprint finish.
